Large Wheel Tubs – Dimple Died & Bead Rolled Side Panels (Pair)
Premium 18-Gauge Steel | TIG-Tacked Fabrication-Ready Wheel Tubs for Custom Cars & Trucks
If your custom build demands more tire clearance, more strength, and a professional, show-quality sheet metal foundation, these Large Wheel Tubs with Dimple Died & Bead Rolled Side Panels belong in your next project. Built from heavy-duty 18-gauge steel, these tubs deliver the durability, rigidity, and premium fabrication appearance that today’s high-performance vehicles require—whether you’re working on a classic muscle car, a mini-tub conversion, a custom truck, a pro-touring build, or a fully reworked chassis.
Designed for builders who refuse compromise, these tubs offer both enhanced functionality and striking visual detail thanks to their precision dimple died and bead-rolled side panels. The panels are TIG welded into place but only tacked, giving you the fabrication freedom to finalize positioning, adjust seams, and complete the welds exactly as your project demands.
Serving as an ideal balance between small and oversized tubs, this 36” L x 11” D x 20” H configuration gives you excellent tire and suspension clearance without sacrificing interior or cargo space. Whether you’re ready to run deeper wheel lips, wider rubber, air-ride suspension, or aggressive performance setups, these Large Wheel Tubs are the perfect foundation.
High-Strength Features & Specifications
• Heavy-Duty 18-Gauge Steel Construction
These wheel tubs are formed from thick, industrial-grade 18-gauge steel—stronger and more stable than many generic, mass-produced alternatives. The metal thickness ensures:
-
Excellent weldability
-
Resistance to flexing under stress
-
Long-term durability
-
Reliable performance under drag launches, air-ride compression, or high-torque loads
-
Reduced distortion during trimming or welding
These tubs are built for real use—not just show floor displays.
• Precision Dimple Died Side Panels
Dimple dies are not only a visual enhancement—they bring structural advantages that matter:
-
Reinforce the panel without adding unnecessary weight
-
Increase rigidity and strength
-
Improve airflow around suspension components
-
Add motorsport-grade appearance to your wheelhouse
-
Reduce panel vibration and long-term fatigue
This combination of strength and design elevates your entire fabrication project.
• Bead Rolled Reinforcement Lines
Bead rolling is a signature technique of high-end metal shaping and provides:
-
Enhanced structural stability
-
Cleaner, more professional body contours
-
Reinforced edges and surfaces
-
A premium, custom-fabricated look
This added bead work makes these tubs ideal for show-quality builds that demand exceptional metalwork.
• TIG-Tacked for Builder Flexibility
The panels are TIG tacked, not fully welded—giving you full control of the final fitment. This allows you to:
-
Adjust the alignment and angle of the panels
-
Accommodate specific wheel/tire and suspension geometry
-
Customize weld patterns
-
Ensure perfect contact and seam fitment before final welds
-
Work exactly the way professional fabricators prefer
This is a crucial advantage for any serious builder.
• Large, Practical Fitment Dimensions
Measurements:
-
36" Length
-
11" Depth
-
20" Height
This size is ideal for builds requiring substantially more clearance than stock tubs, but not as extreme as oversized race tubs. These are perfect for:
-
Wide street tires
-
Mini-tub conversions
-
Performance muscle cars
-
Pro-touring vehicles
-
Bagged trucks
-
Daily-driven custom vehicles
-
Mild-to-moderate chassis upgrades
If you want big-wheel performance without going full back-half or giant drag tubs, this size is the sweet spot.
Why Choose Large Wheel Tubs for Your Custom Build?
1. Designed for Wider Wheels and More Suspension Travel
When upgrading to larger wheels, deeper lips, or lower offsets, the OEM tubs quickly become a limitation. Large wheel tubs eliminate that issue by providing:
-
Extra clearance
-
Improved full-compression space
-
Room for aggressive suspension geometry
-
Protection from tire-to-metal contact
-
Support for bagged, lowered, or raised vehicles
These tubs are especially beneficial for vehicles experiencing suspension articulation or heavy load transfer.
2. Ideal for Mini-Tub and Pro-Touring Conversions
Classic cars and muscle cars were never designed to run modern performance tires. These tubs allow you to:
-
Fit wider, stickier, modern tire compounds
-
Support improved road handling
-
Increase traction for higher horsepower setups
-
Retain interior space when compared to oversized tubs
-
Prepare for coil-over or air-suspension upgrades
Perfect for builds such as:
-
Camaro, Firebird, Nova
-
Mustang, Fairlane, Torino
-
Chevelle, Monte Carlo, El Camino
-
Mopar Duster, Dart, Challenger
-
Classic trucks and SUVs
If you want modern handling but factory-like interior feel, large tubs are the right choice.
3. Excellent for Custom Trucks and Air-Ride Vehicles
Trucks and SUVs benefit greatly from larger tubs when running:
-
Deep wheels
-
Wide tires
-
Air-ride suspension
-
Lowered static setups
-
Custom chassis / notches
These tubs are frequently used in:
-
C10 / C1500 / OBS builds
-
Silverado / Sierra street trucks
-
S10 / Ranger mini-trucks
-
SUVs like Blazer, Tahoe, Suburban
Their added clearance supports full suspension drop without rubbing the inner wheelhouse.
4. Reinforced for Show-Quality Fabrication
These tubs are visually stunning thanks to:
-
Clean curves
-
Symmetrical dimple died patterns
-
Crisp bead-rolled reinforcement lines
-
TIG-ready seams
If your build is intended for display, competition, or magazine features, these tubs instantly elevate the craftsmanship.
5. Provides More Clearance Without Fully Reshaping the Rear End
Many builders choose large tubs because they offer:
-
Extra wheel/tire room
-
More suspension travel
-
Cleaner installation space
-
Better body structure support
…without committing to:
-
A full back-half
-
Extreme chassis cuts
-
Radical race-style mini tubbing
-
Interior space removal
They make high-end builds more achievable with less extreme modification.
Installation Requirements & Important Notes
These wheel tubs are not a bolt-in product.
They require:
-
Cutting
-
Trimming
-
Welding
-
Hammer/dolly work
-
Surface prep
-
Seam finishing
-
Body filler or smoothing
-
Undercoating or bedliner
These are fabrication-ready foundational pieces engineered for professional metalwork.
Fitment Cannot Be Guaranteed
No two custom builds are the same. Fitment depends on:
-
Tire width & height
-
Wheel offset & backspacing
-
Suspension type (air, static, coil-over)
-
Axle width (stock or narrowed)
-
Frame notch configuration
-
Custom chassis or 4-link
-
Body modifications
Because of these variables, we cannot provide fitment guidance for specific vehicles.
WARNING — Fabrication Required
These wheel tubs will require:
-
Cutting
-
Trimming
-
Welding
-
Metal shaping
-
Final finishing
They are intended as raw foundation parts for custom fabrication, not as direct-fit OEM replacements.
