1999–2006 Chevy/GMC Silverado, Sierra & Tahoe (Torsion Bar Models) – 3” Front Lowering Control Arm – Front Passenger Side

Lowering a torsion-bar GM truck the right way takes more than cranking torsion keys or forcing the suspension downward with shortcuts that destroy ride quality. If you’re wanting a true, safe, and geometry-correct 3-inch front drop on your 1999–2006 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, or Chevy Tahoe, this Front Passenger Side Lowering Control Arm is the premium, professional solution engineered specifically for these trucks.

Built to maintain factory ride quality, factory alignment range, and factory steering geometry, this 3-inch lowering control arm offers a significant drop without the harsh ride, binding ball joints, or steering stress caused by traditional torsion-key lowering kits. The geometry is redesigned—NOT forced—allowing your truck to sit lower while maintaining comfortable suspension travel and predictable cornering.

Compatible With GM’s Most Popular Torsion-Bar Trucks (1999–2006)

This 3-inch lowering control arm fits the following torsion-bar equipped GM trucks/SUVs:

  • 1999–2006 Chevy Silverado 1500
  • 1999–2006 GMC Sierra 1500
  • 2000–2006 Chevy Tahoe (torsion-bar models)
  • 2000–2006 GMC Yukon (torsion-bar models)
  • 2000–2006 Chevy Suburban 1500
  • 2000–2006 GMC Yukon XL 1500

These models share the same front torsion-bar architecture and lower control arm geometry, ensuring a direct fit.

Does NOT fit:

  • 2500HD / 3500HD trucks

  • Coil-spring front suspensions

  • Vehicles without torsion bars

  • 4x4 models with different lower control arm designs

If you need a description for those platforms, I can generate them as well.

A TRUE 3-Inch Front Drop — Engineered, Not Forced

Many owners attempt to drop these trucks using torsion keys. While keys may “lower” the truck, they do so by over-cranking the torsion bars, resulting in:

Harsh, bouncy ride

Front suspension bottoming out

Dangerous ball joint angles

Worn tie rods, idler, and pitman arms

No suspension travel

Alignment issues that cannot be corrected

Steering bind at full lock

Premature failure of suspension components

Keys force the suspension down.
These lowering control arms engineer the suspension to operate correctly at the lowered height.

This makes a world of difference in:

  • Safety

  • Handling

  • Longevity

  • Ride comfort

  • Alignment capability

  • Steering feel

How These Lowering Control Arms Deliver a Proper 3-Inch Drop

Ball Joint Angles Correctly Reclocked

At a 3-inch drop, factory lower control arms push ball joints beyond their intended range. This arm places the ball joint in a corrected position to operate safely and smoothly.

Benefits include:

  • No binding

  • No premature wear

  • No bottoming at full droop

  • Proper joint articulation

Factory Alignment Specs Easily Achievable

With the pivot points engineered for a 3-inch drop, this arm allows alignment techs to correctly dial in:

  • Camber

  • Caster

  • Toe

No maxed-out cam bolts.
No extreme shim stacks.
No “almost in spec” alignments.

Suspension Travel Preserved

Unlike torsion keys that rob suspension movement, this lowering control arm keeps:

  • Full downward travel

  • Correct upward compression

  • Proper bump-stop engagement

This results in a buttery-smooth ride instead of a harsh slam.

Steering Geometry Remains Safe

Tie-rod angles remain within OEM tolerance so you avoid:

  • Bump steer

  • Over-center steering

  • Tie-rod wear

  • Steering bind

Your truck handles like OEM—just lower and better.

Premium Components Pre-Installed — No Extra Purchases Needed

This lowering arm comes fully outfitted with high-grade components:

Brand-New Ball Joint Installed

Professionally pressed and clocked for correct geometry.
No press needed.
No guesswork.

Urethane Bushings Installed

These bushings deliver:

  • Stronger load control

  • Improved steering response

  • Longer lifespan vs. stock rubber

  • Better resistance to deflection

Twin-Tube Pivot Sleeves Installed

These sleeves enhance:

  • Durability

  • Smooth articulation

  • Noise reduction

  • Ride refinement

Every component is pre-installed so you can bolt it on and go.

New Shocks REQUIRED — Recommended DJM 1315

When lowering torsion-bar trucks, shock length and damping characteristics must match the new geometry.

DJM Shock #: 1315 is recommended

These shocks are specifically tuned for:

  • 3-inch torsion-bar drops

  • Correct rebound control

  • Correct compression stroke

  • Reduced bottoming

  • Improved ride and handling

Running factory shocks will result in:

  • Harsh ride

  • Shock damage

  • Reduced travel

  • Poor handling

  • Premature suspension wear

Shock #1315 ensures the ride stays smooth, controlled, and safe.

Why Lower Your Silverado, Sierra, or Tahoe With Control Arms Instead of Keys?

1. Ride Quality That Feels OEM — Not Punishing

A correctly engineered drop provides:

  • Smooth cruising

  • Predictable handling

  • Comfortable rebound

  • Safe compression

Keys cannot match this.

2. Better Handling & Road Control

The lower center of gravity gives:

  • Less weight transfer

  • Better cornering

  • Stronger braking stability

  • Flat, controlled body movement

3. Modern, Aggressive Stance

Perfect for wheel setups like:

  • 20”

  • 22”

  • 24”

  • Deep-lip wheels

  • Custom offsets

4. Improved Street Performance Aesthetics

Lowered GM trucks define the modern sport truck look. A 3-inch drop:

  • Reduces wheel gap

  • Levels the body line

  • Makes the truck look faster, cleaner, and more custom

…this arm is the foundation you need.

Installation Overview

This control arm installs like a factory lower arm replacement.

Install Time:

2–4 hours per side (depending on rust and tools)

Tools Required:

  • Jack & jack stands

  • Impact gun or breaker bar

  • Torque wrench

  • Sockets & wrenches

  • Ball joint separator (optional)

  • Alignment required after installation

Because these arms are geometry-corrected, alignment techs will find them easy to dial in.
