Lowering Dream Beams (King Pin I-Beam Drop Beams)

Give your classic Ford truck the stance it always deserved — without ruining ride quality or alignment geometry.
These 3-inch Lowering Dream Beams are engineered specifically for king-pin Twin I-Beam Ford trucks and provide the correct way to lower your front suspension while preserving factory steering characteristics and drivability.

Designed for 1965–1979 Ford F100 trucks, these beams drop the front of your truck exactly 3 inches using proper suspension geometry rather than shortcuts like springs or cutting coils.

If you want a classic lowered truck that drives straight, tracks correctly, and doesn’t chew through tires — this is the right way to do it.

Why You NEVER Lower a Twin I-Beam Truck with Springs

The Ford Twin I-Beam suspension is legendary for strength and ride comfort — but it does NOT respond well to traditional lowering methods.

Many owners attempt to lower their trucks by:

  • Cutting factory springs

  • Heating springs

  • Installing “lowering coils”

This creates problems that cannot be aligned out:

  • Severe positive camber

  • Tire wear in a few hundred miles

  • Wandering steering

  • Poor braking stability

  • Bump steer

  • Unsafe handling

The Geometry Problem

The Twin I-Beam suspension pivots from the frame — not from control arms like modern suspensions.
Lowering with springs changes the beam angle, which permanently alters camber throughout suspension travel.

Dream Beams correct this at the source by relocating the spindle position in the beam itself.

Result:
You keep factory alignment range — just 3 inches lower.

What Makes “Dream Beams” Different

These are not modified stock beams and not bent beams.

They are purpose-built king pin I-beams engineered for proper suspension travel and geometry.

Engineering Features

  • Corrected camber geometry

  • Factory steering angles maintained

  • Proper tie-rod alignment

  • Maintains suspension travel

  • OEM ride quality retained

  • Eliminates tire wear issues

The truck drives like stock — only lower.

Compatible With Drum OR Disc Brakes

These beams work with both factory brake types:

  • Drum brake trucks

  • Factory disc brake trucks

  • Disc brake conversions

Planning to upgrade to disc brakes? Perfect.

Simply install:

  • Disc brake spindles

  • Matching king pins

No fabrication required.

This makes them one of the best upgrades to perform during a brake conversion.

Included Components

Your kit includes:

  • 3” Drop King Pin I-Beams (pair)

  • Installation wrench

  • Precision machined king pin bores

Tie-Rod Extenders

When a Twin I-Beam truck is lowered improperly, tie-rods angle incorrectly causing bump steer.

These beams include extenders to keep tie-rods centered in the radius arms — exactly like factory ride height.

Result:
Stable steering and predictable tracking at highway speeds.

Ride Quality — Factory Smooth

Because suspension travel is preserved:

  • No harsh ride

  • No bottoming out

  • No unpredictable steering

  • No wandering

Your truck will feel like Ford engineered it — just with a perfect lowered stance.

This is why experienced builders insist on drop beams for Twin I-Beam trucks.

Perfect For Restorations, Show Trucks & Daily Drivers

Whether you're building:

  • Classic cruiser

  • Patina shop truck

  • Show truck

  • Street performance build

  • Period-correct restoration

Lowering Dream Beams provide the proper foundation.

You can pair them with:

  • Lowered rear leaf kits

  • Lowering shackles & hangers

  • Modern wheels & tires

  • Disc brake conversions

  • Air ride systems

They work with both stock and modified setups.

Alignment Benefits

After installation, the truck aligns normally using factory adjustment range.

You avoid:

  • Offset bushings

  • Extreme shims

  • Tire destruction

  • Constant realignment

This is the single biggest advantage over spring-based lowering.

Installation Overview

Installation is straightforward for any competent suspension shop or experienced DIY builder.

Basic steps:

  1. Remove factory beams

  2. Transfer spindles

  3. Ream king pin bushings to fit

  4. Install tie-rod extenders

  5. Align truck

A custom wrench is included to simplify installation.

Replacement Parts & Serviceability

Unlike custom fabricated modifications, these beams use standard service components.

OEM King Pin Compatibility

Replacement king pins available at any parts supplier.

Brake Compatibility

Stance Transformation

Your truck gains the classic lowered Ford truck profile:

  • Level body lines

  • Reduced wheel gap

  • Proper tire tuck

  • Aggressive street presence

Without sacrificing usability.

You can still:

  • Drive daily

The Correct Way to Lower a Twin I-Beam Ford

Ford engineered the Twin I-Beam for durability and ride comfort.
To lower it properly, you must change the beam geometry — not the spring height.

That’s exactly what these beams do.

No shortcuts.
No compromises.
No alignment nightmares.

Just a classic F100 stance done right.
